Guidance and support for students on probation
Before you talk to the advisor, it is important to think about why you had trouble meeting the minimum progression requirements in the last year. Identify the challenges, and consider what you may do differently to address them moving forward. Note where you have had success academically. What was it about those courses that helped you perform better? Consider you academic goals, and what resources may help you raise your average.
As you prepare your probation plan and course selection, remember to fill out a checklist for your program/module. If you see that you are missing any first year requirements, this is an excellent opportunity to incorporate them into your plan.
