Submit your Intent to Register for September

Every March students can submit their Intent to Register (ITR) to request entry into a program or module for the upcoming academic year.

You must submit an ITR if you are:

  • first-year student (all first-year students are required to submit)
  • Currently undeclared
  • Wanting to change, add, or drop a program/module

If you are staying in your current program and not making any changes, you do not need to submit an ITR.

Important Dates

  • ITR opens: February 25 (in Student Center)
  • Deadline:  March 31 (no exceptions)
  • Adjudication (final grade review for program eligibility/admission): May
  • Results available: by mid-June

Students who submit their ITR by March 31 will have their requests reviewed in May and will know their admission decision by mid-June.

If you do not submit an ITR:

  • You will remain in your current program (if eligible), or
  • You will be listed as Undeclared for the upcoming academic year.

How to Submit Your ITR

Most students will submit their ITR through the Student Center.  except: concurrent degree, HBA dual degree, Brescia programs, Scholar's programs.

Concurrent Degree Students

If you are completing a concurrent degree (eg. Social Science and a professional degree such as Engineering, Music, Nursing, etc.), you cannot submit through Student Center.

Instead, submit through the Social Science Help PortalIntent to Register > Unable to submit ITR through Student Center

HBA Dual Degree (Ivey)

Students pursuing the HBA Dual Degree with Ivey Business School do not need to submit an ITR to Social Science.

Please contact Ivey at hba@ivey.uwo.ca for guidance.

Brescia Programs

Students wishing to declare, change, add/drop, or progress in a Brescia Social program/module must submit their ITR through the Social Science Help Portal (not through Student Center).

Scholars Programs (Scholar's Electives & Western Scholars)

First year students: contact Trish Regier for help with your ITR
Upper-year students: submit your ITR through Student Center. If you are considering a program change, contact Trish Regier for support.

To reach Trish, submit a ticket through the Help Portal: Program > Scholar's Programs
